UPAA Elections 2026: Voting Guidelines

Voting Period & Know Your Candidates

Voting starts at 2:00 PM on June 18, 2026 and ends at 5:00 PM on August 6, 2026.

Voting hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM only, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Who Can Vote?

Only UPAA members in good standing as of 5:00 PM on July 27, 2026 are qualified to vote.

Each qualified voter is entitled to only one (1) official ballot.

How to Get Your Ballot

Official ballots may be obtained from the:

UPAA Head Office
Ang Bahay ng Alumni
UP Diliman, Quezon City

Ballots may also be requested and received via mail.

Verification procedures will be implemented to ensure that ballots are issued only to qualified voters and that each voter receives only one ballot.

Voting Period and Schedule

Casting of votes may be done from:

June 18, 2026 (Thursday), 2:00 PM
to
August 6, 2026 (Thursday), 5:00 PM

Voting hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM only, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Modes of Voting

Qualified members may vote through only one (1) of the following methods:

  • Voting by Mail/Courier
  • Face-to-Face Voting (Personal)
  • Face-to-Face Voting (By Proxy)

Once a vote has been cast—whether personally, by mail/courier, or by proxy—the member may no longer vote through any other mode.

Voting by Mail/Courier

UPAA will send one (1) official ballot to members in good standing at their current or last known mailing address no later than July 15, 2026.

Instructions

  1. Accomplish the ballot.
  2. Place the ballot inside the prescribed inner envelope and seal it securely to preserve voting secrecy.
  3. Place the sealed inner envelope inside the official return envelope provided by UPAA.
  4. The inner envelope must contain:
    • Printed name of the voter
    • Signature
    • Ballot number
    • Other information required by the COMELEC for verification

Returning Your Ballot

Completed ballots may be returned through:

  • Registered mail
  • Private courier services (LBC, DHL, FedEx)
  • Messenger services (Lalamove, GrabExpress)
  • Other reliable delivery services

Ballots will be accepted provided they are delivered to the designated UPAA office or official mailing address on or before 5:00 PM on August 6, 2026.

Ballots received after the deadline will not be counted.

Face-to-Face Voting

Face-to-face voting will be conducted at the UPAA Office during the voting period from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Requirements and Procedure

  • Present a valid government-issued ID or valid UPAA ID.
  • The voter's name will be verified against the official list of eligible voters.
  • Upon verification, the voter will be issued one (1) official ballot duly initialed by an authorized election officer.
  • The ballot must be accomplished in the designated voting area to ensure secrecy.
  • The voter must personally deposit the completed ballot into the official sealed ballot box.

Proxy Voting

Members who wish to vote through a proxy must submit:

  1. A duly accomplished and signed Proxy Authorization Form
  2. A photocopy of a valid government-issued ID or valid UPAA ID
  3. Three (3) specimen signatures on the same document for verification

Additional Requirements

  • The proxy must also be a UPAA member in good standing.
  • The proxy shall accomplish and deposit the ballot in accordance with the standard face-to-face voting procedures.

Participate in UPAA Elections 2026

All qualified members in good standing are encouraged to participate and exercise their right to vote in the UPAA Elections 2026.
